I have a bet going on with a friend and he thought that John Deere was born in 1837 and i told him that Deere & Company started in 1837.
John Deere was born in Rutland, Vermont on February 7, 1804 .John Deere, a 33-year old blacksmith from Vermont, founded the company in Grand Detour, Illinois, in 1837.
